Sally Crockett and the Kuma Foundation are on a mission – to provide STEAM education (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) to every student, regardless of gender, race or socioeconomic background. This mission alone is more than worthy of recognition but if you think Sally stops there, you’d be sorely mistaken!

When the pandemic began to show its ugly effects on the very audience she and the Kuma Foundation support, she and her team pivoted to an even more critical need. They are now collecting, purchasing and delivering food and other essential items to families in need. To date, Sally and the Kuma Foundation have helped more than 500 families in the Northern Virginia area!

It is these types of thoughtful and compassionate acts that will ultimately lead us out of this crisis stronger than we were before. Thank you, Sally! You truly are an #OYGHero.
